Alwan Color Expertise unterstützt mit kostenfreien Lösungen das Rochester Institute of Technology und deren Studenten (Meldung in englischer Sprache)

Alwan Color Expertise Donates New Solutions to Rochester Institute of Technology and Gives Students and Professors a Boost

Lyon, May 27th, 2009 - Alwan continues its tradition for supporting education and training by donating a number of its latest solutions to the Rochester Institute of Technology. Having assisted the product demonstrations, Professor Robert Chung describes the Alwan tools PDF Standardizer and PDF Print as: “Pure dynamite!” and thanked Elie Khoury, President and Founder of Alwan Color Expertise for his generosity.

Alwan is involved in various education and training programs, in addition to its core business of software and solutions development. The company allocates significant resources to education and has initiated a program to support universities running courses on color management and standardization for the graphic industries. Alwan is also dedicated to research and is a member of a number of international committees, providing a variety of services, such as consultancy, training, and seminars on industry standards.

Schools and universities that have benefited from Alwan's donations, lectures and knowledge sharing include: les Gobelins, in Paris; EFPG-Pagora, in Grenoble, France; Scuola Grafica Salesiana di Milano in Italy; and the University of Wupperthal, in Germany. Alwan has been impressed by the array of talent on display at all the institutions it supports and believes the future is promising for the graphics industry.

Elie Khoury, President and founder of Alwan Color Expertise, comments: “We have always held the belief that education and business should work together and learn from each other. Professionals bring their industry expertise, know-how and experience, while students and professors offer fresh ideas and creativity, which is very inspiring for businesses. It’s also a great way for professionals to recruit talent for the future.
“During the sessions, students meet with professionals and learn a lot about the industry, which helps them make more informed career choices and better prepares them for the job market. Alwan is always very keen to establish relationships with print media universities and schools worldwide. Thanks to these partnerships, universities receive state-of-the-art tools, software and solutions that they can use in classes and labs; and many of Alwan’s specialists give lectures on color management and standardization. It’s a successful arrangement that benefits all those involved.”

Alwan’s donation to RIT’s School of Print Media: Print Standardizer and PDF Standardizer
In April 2009, Elie Khoury held a discussion with the Advanced Color Management Class at RIT School of Print Media. He talked about printing standardization and software solutions in implementing standard PDF and conformance to ISO 12647.

Alwan donated the state-of-the-art software, the PDF Standardizer and Print Standardizer, to the School of Print Media for research and teaching PDF-based color management and printing workflows.

Bob Chung, Gravure Research Professor, thanked Khoury for his generosity and long-time support of the color management curriculum: “We’re always pleased to welcome Alwan to the Institute. The company’s insight to printing standardization and software implementation of standard PDF and ISO 12647 was invaluable. The donation of the PDF Standardizer and Print Standardizer will benefit hugely the students and the teaching staff. Both are excellent tools that demonstrate best industry practice in managing PDF-based digital workflows while conforming to printing specifications.”
